SAMHSA’s 24-Hour Helpline

SAMHSA’s 24-hour helpline is a free phone service available every day at all hours of the day and night that provides information on local resources for drug and alcohol abuse.

You can call the number, 800-662-HELP, and a counselor will give you information on local treatment centers, support groups, community-based organizations, and free publications. The number receives about 30,000 calls a month.

SAMHSA also operates a 24-hour phone number for anyone considering suicide. That number is 800-273-TALK.
