SAMHSA’s National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provides a web site, SAMHSA’s National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information (NCADI), for dissemination of information on substance abuse prevention and addiction treatment.

NCADI specialists respond to requests for information on alcohol and drugs via email, telephone, voice mail, postal mail, TDD and fax. NCADI has fact sheets, brochures, posters, videocassettes, monographs and posters, and specialists taking the requests will make recommendations as to those most appropriate to the requester’s needs. The helpline is open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week and Telecommunications Display Device (TDD) and Spanish language services are also available. NCADI also has an on-site visitor request service and specialists can refer callers to organizations and centers for substance and alcohol abuse and handle crisis calls.

For more information, SAMHSA’s e-Network Online provides those who sign up with up-to-date information on self-selected topics such as grants, publications, campaigns, programs, statistics and data reports.
