Mental health services locator

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provides an online resource for locating mental health services in the U.S. and territories. The online locator is operated as part of the SAMHSA National Mental Health Information Center, Center for Mental Health Services. The locator provides comprehensive information about mental health and services using a drop-down menu.
For each state, such information includes:

  • Mental Health Facilities Locator – a searchable directory of treatment and support facilities for mental health
  • Mental Health Services Directory – lists consumer, family and advocacy organizations providing comprehensive information about these services
  • Hispanic Youth Violence Prevention Services – a searchable directory of these services
  • State Resource Guide – this is a summary of national and state organizations that provide self-help groups, family support programs, financing information, and professional advocacy protection
  • State Suicide Prevention Programs – lists available state-funded suicide prevention programs and plans
  • Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Locator – a searchable directory of nationwide treatment centers for drugs and alcohol
  • CMHS Grantees – public and private organizations receiving funding from the Center for Mental Health Services to provide mental health services
  • State Statistics – Data specific to the state that includes the amount spent on mental health, incidence of mental illness among adults and children, and utilization of inpatient services
